Marc Danner

PRINCIPAL
Sweetwater Community School

Sweetwater Community School is very excited that Mr. Danner serves as principal. He had been assistant principal since August 2019.

He was born and raised in Phoenix – a rare native. Mr. Danner completed his student teaching at Indian Bend Elementary School where he was fortunate to meet his wife Stacee. In 2004, he received his B.A. in Special Education from Arizona State University and at that time he accepted a middle school position at Roadrunner School. During that time at Roadrunner, he completed his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and in 2008 he returned to Indian Bend as a Teacher on Assignment and Literacy Coach. After three years at Indian Bend, he transferred to his home high school, Shadow Mountain, as the Special Education IDL and the Dean of Students. Mr. Danner was the assistant principal at Greenway Middle School for four years until he transferred to Sweetwater. At home, he is blessed to have the love and support of his family, including his wife and their two wonderful children, Myles and Avery.

Gary Callahan

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL HIGH SCHOOL

It's with great pleasure that I have been selected as the assistant principal at the Sweetwater Community School.  I am looking forward to working with you and your student.  I come to the position with a wealth of experience at the secondary level; if there is anything I can do to make your child successful, please do not hesitate to contact me.

A little about myself ….

I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Arizona in 1978. I am a proud product of the Paradise Valley Unified School District having graduated from Desert Shadows Middle School ('79), and Horizon High School ('83). It was then off to Arizona State University for an undergraduate degree in Business (’87). It wasn’t until after college that I found my passion for teaching. I obtained my certificate through Ottawa University and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. My teaching career began at my Alma Mater, DSMS. There I taught Social Studies, Physical Education and Math. I coached basketball and football, and was the school’s Athletic Director. My coaching experience also includes football and basketball at Horizon High School.  After teaching and coaching, I moved into administration and have been the Assistant Principal at Vista Verde Middle School.

I am a proud father of 4 boys; all attended PVSchools.  Again, I look forward to working together with you and your student.
